Welcome to Morsels. A newsletter on food and cooking and everything else that falls within it.
Morsels is a new food newsletter that will publish recipes, food writing, and video content in a form not otherwise platformed in the Australian media. It is a platform for writers, artists, and chefs who would otherwise not have a home in the traditional Australian media landscape.
The content we wish to provide initially will fall into 3 different categories:
Recipes
Recipes for cooking with ease at home by me - Dan Wilson - alongside recipes from young chefs and cooks from around Australia. This will include video content and ‘how to’ tutorials on a weekly basis.
Restaurant ‘reviews’ and area guides
Exploratory reviews of cuisines and traditional foods alongside comprehensive ‘best of’ guides for areas otherwise not covered by traditional food media.Long form articles on food and culture
Examining the different aspects of Australian life in food through production, eating and creating.
Initially the content will be Australia-focused and have a heavy lean on South East Queensland, but with time we hope to expand it to have a more international appeal. While this newsletter is free, subscribing to the monthly will gain you access to extra material, video content, recipes and guides. Further, money raised through subscriptions will aim to ensure that those who contribute can be paid fairly and honestly for their expertise.
